Last night, three trainees with Abingdon Fire Company – MD participated in a search and rescue training evolution, focusing on right-hand and left-hand search techniques inside a simulated structure.
Through clear communication, strong teamwork, and coordinated firefighting operations, the crew successfully located and removed a victim smoothly and efficiently. The drill highlighted the importance of discipline, situational awareness, and working together under pressure.
These members are currently in the process of completing Firefighter I, and this evolution showcased not only their growing skillset, but their commitment to becoming the next generation of Abingdon firefighters.
Training like this ensures our department remains prepared to respond when our community needs us most.
