April 4, 2026 marked a historic milestone for the Abingdon Fire Company as members, community leaders, supporters, and residents gathered to officially dedicate and open the new Station 4 to the community.
The dedication ceremony celebrated not only the completion of a modern new facility, but also the continued growth and evolution of the department’s mission to serve and protect the citizens of the Abingdon area and surrounding communities. The event brought together generations of firefighters, volunteers, families, and neighbors, highlighting the strong connection between the fire company and the community it proudly serves.
Station 4 represents far more than bricks and mortar. It stands as a symbol of the department’s enduring commitment to public safety, emergency preparedness, and professional service. Designed to support the needs of today while preparing for the challenges of tomorrow, the station will enhance operational readiness and provide firefighters and emergency personnel with the resources needed to continue delivering exceptional emergency response services.
The opening of Station 4 also reflects the legacy of dedication built by countless members past and present whose hard work, sacrifice, and vision helped make this project possible. From the earliest planning stages through construction and completion, the project received tremendous support from community members, local partners, and supporters who believed in the importance of investing in public safety.
The Abingdon Fire Company extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who attended the dedication ceremony, contributed to the project, or supported the department throughout the process.
