On April 18, 2026, members of the Abingdon Fire Company traveled to West Chester, Pennsylvania, to participate in an intensive live fire training program designed to strengthen operational readiness and sharpen critical firefighting skills.

Throughout the training, crews took part in a series of hands-on evolutions conducted under realistic fire conditions. These scenarios focused on essential firefighting operations including fire attack, search procedures, victim rescue, and coordinated teamwork in high-pressure environments. The live fire exercises provided firefighters with valuable opportunities to train in conditions that closely mirror real emergency incidents.

Ongoing training remains a cornerstone of Abingdon Fire Company’s commitment to protecting the community. By regularly participating in advanced drills and practical exercises, firefighters continue to build the skills, confidence, and experience necessary to respond quickly, safely, and effectively when emergencies occur.

The Abingdon Fire Company extends its appreciation to everyone involved in coordinating and supporting the training event, as well as to the dedicated members who continue to invest their time and effort into improving their craft in service to the community.
