A station tour is a great way to learn about fire safety, meet your local firefighters, and experience the excitement of the fire service firsthand. Whether you’re a school class, scout pack, community organization, or simply a group interested in public safety, we’re excited to welcome you to Abingdon Fire Company.
Our team will guide you through the station and share what a day in the life of a firefighter really looks like.
What to Expect During Your Visit
Your tour may include:
- A guided walkthrough of the fire station
- An inside look at our fire engines, ambulances, and specialized equipment
- An overview of our emergency response operations
- A firefighter gear demonstration
- Important fire and life safety education tailored to your group
- Time for questions, photos, and interaction with the crew
When available, guests may step inside the fire apparatus for a closer look. (Please note: rides are not available.)
Before You Visit
To help us prepare for your group, please keep the following in mind:
- All tour requests must be submitted at least 14–30 days in advance.
- Tours typically last 30–60 minutes, depending on group size and crew availability.
- Firefighters may be dispatched to emergencies at any time. If this occurs, your tour may be delayed or need to be rescheduled.
- Please provide your estimated group size and any special needs or accommodations when submitting your request.
- Children must be supervised by adults at all times while inside the fire station.
