The Abingdon Fire Company is having a pit beef fundraiser on Saturday, July 11th! Our award-winning chef (who doubles as one of our Assistant Chiefs) will be serving up pit beef, turkey and ham from 12:00pm until 4:00pm or until the food is all gone. Make sure to arrive early since food this good won't last throughout the day!

Smoke In The Area Turns Into Working Dwelling Fire

At approximately 3:39pm on June 7th, Abingdon Fire Company was alerted for an investigation of smoke in the area in the 2800 block of Philadelphia Road. As units from AFC and the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company began calling en route, a large column of smoke could be seen over the area and the call was upgraded to a possible dwelling fire. At approximately 10:02pm on June 2nd, Abingdon Fire Company was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 100 block of Palmetto Drive (Edgewood). Engine 415, Truck 431, Chief 4-1 and Paramedic 492 along with multiple units from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, and the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department arrived with fire showing and immediately went to work. ... Members Train on Downed Firefighter CPR

Members from AFC train every Monday evening on various topics to keep their skills up. While some trainings are fire related such has hose line deployment, or fire ground operations, some trainings are EMS related such as blood borne pathogens or backboarding patients,but many other trainings are mutual fire and EMS.
